As I mention in the video, thats not to say that all drugstore makeup is tested on animals or is highly toxic, so I do mention a few brands that I do use :) Plus, Im referring to the large brands that are available everywhere - there could be some drug stores that provide good, cruelty-free and organic makeup, but that obviously depends on the drugstore and they country you live in :) Here's a comprehensive database where you can enter ANY cosmetic product and check out its toxicity levels: www.ewg.org With regards to MAC lipsticks and lead, a new study conducted by the US FDA found traces of lead in some their lipstick shades. So here is that list of the MAC lipsticks with the lead content over 0.1, so it's best to avoid them. They're listed in order of their lead toxicity, starting with the highest: "Metal Maven" "Show Orchid" "Bronzilla" "Frou" "Bubbles" "Bronze Shimmer" "Frenzy" "Bombshell" The absolute highest content of lead in the whole study was found in the following lipsticks (this is the top 4): 1. Have you found me on Twitter yet? www.twitter.com ************************************* Recipes: Natural AHA Scrub/Toner- -Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice -Olive Oil -Brown Sugar -(consistency varies) Avacado & Coconut Oil Deep Conditioner- Ingredients: -1/2 Haas avocado -3 Tbsp coconut oil -1/2 cup of coconut milk -2 Tbsp of honey Directions: Mix everything into a blender. Apply to freshly shampooed hair. After hair is saturated comb through and put on a plastic cap to let hair sit for at least one hour. Wash out and voila! CocoVeggieWater Mixture- Ingredients: -coconut oil -vegetable Glycerin -Water -1 spray bottle (oz does not matter) Directions: Divide the ingredients into parts because it's easier when you are working with different sized spray bottles. Some could be 6 oz or 8 oz. Fill half of the bottle with water. The oil and glycerin are going to take up the other half so you are going to fourth those ingredients. Switching to Organic Cosmetics

The crap cosmetics we put on our face and skin have been linked to various forms of cancer, breast cancer included. Why doesn't the FDA regulate the cosmetics industry? Probably because we do not ingest cosmetics. Does that mean they do not regulate drugs that are spread on the skin vs. ingesting it? I didn't think so. What we put on our skin can kill us. Face it. The epidermis is the largest organ in our body and easily absorbs anything we put on it. In countries like Germany, the standards for the cosmetics industry is extremely strict. They're not allowed to put in parabens or any synthetic ingredients. If other countries are protecting their citizens from these harmful ingredients, what is keeping the US from doing so? Until the US changes and protects the mass from these toxic ingredients, we must fend for ourselves. Thankfully, there are many websites to help with this. As I've been cleaning out my makeup stash and replacing it with natural and organic lines, I've been blessed to have encountered many gurus in this field and even more entrepreneurs who took it upon themselves to create products that are clean and safe and putting it online for people to buy.

Watch this video on my site www.lisae.me.uk for product links, tips and more info. I've been asked many times if I ever use organic and natural make-up brands in my kit. As much as i would love to use all organic make-up I find that the range of colours in these brands is often too limiting for professional work (particularly in terms of foundation shades and textures). Due to the fact that many of the chemical ingredients and silicones are omitted there will always be certain textures and pigment types which they cannot achieve. However, the market for these ranges is growing and they are improving all the time in terms of their formulations and colour palettes. I've included my current favourite natural brands Lavera, one of the best out there, along with well established Dr Hauschka. These are brands I have used personally for years. I havent touched on the subject of animal testing (suffice to say all the brands mentioned have animal welfare high on their list), as its such a huge subject. Working in the industry I know more about this than most but its not something i can cover and do justice to in a short video. Ditto the use of silicone in cosmetics. I did include all my thoughts on silicone in this video but it was 25 minutes long! I don't have a problem with silicone myself, its worked its way through the medical industry for years before making it into cosmetics but its up to you to make your mind up for yourself. Made my face smell like cookie dough lol Its gentle enough for the most sensitive skin. The beads or oats in it give you the feeling like you're having a professional facial done right at home lol But because it has Sodium Laurylr Sulfate in it, I will not be purchasing this or any of Queen Helene products. I have been doing great with my hair and face not using products with Sodium Laurylr Sulfates or SLSs that I am not going to stop now. But if you dont mind or care about the SLS then I would definitely recommend this facial scrub. Its great. Shea Moisture Organic African Black Soap .99 bought @ Targets Great Great Great!!!!! This is a definite add to my skin care collection. It leaves my skin clean and refreshed. Works great for breakouts, in getting rid of them very quickly. Great for acne prone skin and troubled skin. No SLS, thank goodness. Have all natural ingredients, especially shea butter. Of course this is not all just African Black soap, becuase it isnt actually black. Great buy! I recommend to to any and everyone looking for a bar of soap that is all natural and organic and clears acne and breakouts away fast.
